"The Tales of Iryvalya: Bloodlines" is now available!

I am so excited to announce my first published book "The Tales of Iryvalya: Bloodlines" is now available for purchase on Amazon! (link provided below along with the summary)

The Tales of Iryvalya: Bloodlines

My world is not like yours. It was once peaceful… beautiful... prosperous... Then the Elves came to power. Greedy and vengeful, the Elves split into two rival Klayns, The Pyrothian Elves and the Lumaryia Elves. These two Klayns have been fighting for centuries, laying waste to everything in their way. Some rebels, The Drayk's, believe in the prophecy… that a mixed-blood Elf will end the war and unite the world in a new era of peace…

…And they believe that mixed-blood Elf is me... an orphan named Nyrieve, raised by Fairies whose true identity has been hidden from her for so long... Me… How can I bring peace to Iryvalya, a world I have barely seen?

…but, do I even want to?

The Tales of Iryvalya: Bloodlines by LeAnn Kelley

I just want to take a moment and say how humbled I am by this whole experience. I have always enjoyed writing, but this was the first story that came to me and would not allow me to quit. It has already forced me to start writing book two of the series, and I know there will be more books to follow after!

Spring has sprung...

The lilac bush outside my window finally has buds growing on it, so I guess spring really is here... and with spring upon us, the world of Iryvalya is getting ready to be reveled to our world soon...

My book is almost ready to get published, it is with my awesome editor for its second pass and then it is time to get it published. I am excited as I already have my ISBN's and I am in the process of getting my Copyright and Library of Congress ID's.

It is definitely feeling more and more real, and I am ready to be able to share the world of Iryvalya with you all! I really hope you will enjoy reading about Nyrieve's journey and learning more about Iryvalya.

A New Year

With the New Year, there is always new adventures ahead…

My editing is closer to being finished, and surprisingly I ended up adding another chapter… I guess I felt I left something important out. Soon I’ll be sending my book off to my editor and focusing on the publishing and marketing aspect of my book, as well as working on book 2.

It seems crazy that it is already February, and that it is almost a year since I moved back to Michigan. I am thankful it has been a rather mild winter for my first one back in the north, though the kids of course love getting to play in the snow when there is enough on the ground.

I hope everyone is having a great start to their new year and will keep updated on what is going on with my book!

Exciting things on the horizon...

It has been so long since I blogged, and I do feel bad for that, but it has been quite a busy time for me.

I am finishing up my last semester in college right now, which has been keeping me really busy. One of my classes is my hardest subject, so it takes me even more time, because I really want to make sure I understand everything. Come December, I will have my degree and I will be able to focus more on my book.

As far as my book, I have been editing whenever I have any free time. I am pretty excited that come next year I will be taking my book to the next level, getting it professionally edited and then the hard part of either getting picked up and published or self-publish if needs be.

Thanksgiving is not far off, and I am excited to enjoy a wonderful meal with family and friends. If I do not happen to post before, I do hope all my fellow Americans have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

First Days...

So today was my oldest first day back to school... I cannot believe that he is in his last year of middle school... It makes me think back to the last few first days of school, and in such a short time he has become such an amazing young man, and an incredible big brother to his baby sister. While I know he has a long way to go until finishing high school and college, I have no doubts he will be able to complete all those things and more. I am just feeling really proud and so lucky to have him as my son. I couldn't have hoped to have a better one.

Wishing all the children heading off to a new school year the best of luck and hope they always follow their dreams!

And the editing continues...

My first book has been finished and now I am 1/3 through the editing phase. I am blown away that I have completed my first goal of writing a book. I really thought if I had a book of 200 pages I would be blown away, and here I ended up with 465 pages.

I have also been very lucky lately to have a couple beta readers who have given me some amazing feedback and great suggestions on editing my book. It is amazing how supportive people can be and how much it can encourage you to continue and keep doing what you love.

I hope to be keeping more updated in my blogs, but I have never been very good at knowing what to say, so if you have any questions or suggestions, I would love to hear them!

Now back to editing my first of many novels! :)

So we have moved into our final location, and I just finished Chp 32 last night. I am pretty positive Chp 33 will be the last Chapter in my first novel for this series. I am pretty excited to actually start the editing process, as I know a lot of the things I want/need to fill in and change around.

I do want to say how appreciative I am of all the support I have received from everyone, husband, kids, family, friends, fellow authors and others. I never expected to try to do something like this and have so many people supporting me and helping encourage me. I really do wish I would have started writing earlier in life, but then again, I love where I am in my life, so perhaps that had a lot to do with me finally finding the right story in me to actually bring out. :)
